Chhitar Mal Gupta
Chhitar Mal Gupta received his Ph.D. degree from the Agra University, Agra, in 1969. An Indian Molecular Biologist, he has extensively contributed to drug targeting in parasitic diseases and membrane phospholipids transbilayer dynamics. Another area he worked on is the elucidation of the actin cytoskeletal network in Leishmania. Dr. C.M.Gupta became an Indian Academy of Sciences Fellow in 1987; National Academy of Sciences Fellow in 2000. He received the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in 1985; Om Prakash Bhasin Award in 1999.

Kanury Venkata Subba Rao
Kanury Venkata Subba Rao obtained his Ph.D. from Maharaj Sayajirao University, Vadodara, in 1982. His significant contribution was in designing new synthetic peptide vaccines for Hepatitis B, which were reported to generate high immunogenicity in humans. He also contributed to the pathogenesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and in the diagnostics of HIV/AIDS. He was elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences in 1993; Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences in 1994. He was the recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in 1997. He received the Millennium Plaque of Honour of the Indian Science Congress in 2000. He served as the president of the Indian Immunology Society from 2004 to 2008.
