Vanmali Saran Manglik Vanmali Saran Manglik

Vanmali Saran Manglik obtained his MD from the University of Lucknow in 1929. His research was especially on tumor biology, bacteriology of epidemic gastroenteritis, and liver disorders. He was the pioneer in the internship program at the University of Lucknow Hospital, under the sponsorship of The Rockefeller Foundation. He served as the District Medical Officer, Agra Medical School. He was instrumental in setting up the Pathology department under the auspices of WHO in the Medical college in Myanmar.

Lakshminarayanapuram Krishna Iyer Ramachandran Lakshminarayanapuram Krishna Iyer Ramachandran

LKI Ramachandran obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Madras in 1953. His research topics were the structure of tobacco virus protein, protein iodine interactions, and amino acids and toxins in the Lathyrus species of plants. He made significant contributions to structure-activity correlations in peptide antibodies and toxins of venoms. He was a Member of the Society of Biological Chemists; American Chemical Society; New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Ramachandran was conferred with the P. S. Sarma Memorial Award by the Society of Biological Chemists in 1973; Sir J C Bose Award in 1978.
