Prasanna K Mohanty
Prasanna Mohanty obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, USA, in 1972. His research interest was an assortment of works on metal-ion-specific interference of electron transport, energy transfer in photosynthesis, identifying PBS as a target of UV-B stress in cyanobacteria, and biohydrogen production from heterocystous cyanobacteria. He was associated with several international collaborations like India-Russia, India-Japan, and India-USA bilateral programs. Dr. Mohanty was the recipient of the Jagdish Chandra Bose Award. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad, and a Founder Fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India.

Ram Narayan Tandon
Ram Narayan Tandon received his Ph.D. from the University of London, UK, in 1939. His research interest was fungal taxonomy and fungal flora of the country's different regions and conducting extensive research on the storage diseases of various fruits. He assessed the role of plant pathogens causing spoilage, fungal physiology, and nutrition of different strains of about 45 pathogenic genera of fungi. He also suggested control measures against many diseases. Dr. Tandon was an Elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad; Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore; National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi; Mycological Society of India and President Indian Science Congress.
