Dhanonjay Nasipuri
Dhanonjay Nasipuri obtained his DSc from the University of Kolkata in 1964. His research interest was synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry and organic stereochemistry. He developed new reagents for the diastereoselective reduction of cyclic ketones and a new biomimetic method for synthesising naturally occurring diterpenes and sesquiterpenes. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, England; Indian Chemical Society and the Indian Academy of Science, Bengaluru.

Ram Prasad Mitra
Ram Prasad Mitra received his DSc from the University of Kolkata in 1938. His research topics were experimental and theoretical electrochemistry. He did pioneering research in the physical chemistry of proteins, synthetic polypeptides, structural chemistry of clay minerals, photochemistry of cyanide complexes, surface chemistry and quantum chemistry. He was a member of e INSA Council. He was President Indian Science Congress (1962). He was a member Indian National Committee for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry.
