Kalpathi Ramakrishna Ramanathan
Kalpathi R Ramanathan obtained his DSc from the University of Madras in 1923. His primary fields of research were a molecular scattering of light and x-rays diffraction in liquids, gases and mixtures and anisotropy of molecules. His significant contribution was estimating the role of secondary and higher-order scattering in the twilight. Dr Ramanathan received the Padma Bhushan (1965); Padma Vibhushan (1976). He was the elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore; Honorary Fellow Royal Meteorological Society, London; International Association of Meteorology; International Ozone Commission.

Radhe Shyam Ambasht
Radhe Shyam Ambasht earned his PhD from the Banaras Hindu University. His major research was on species diversity, biomass productivity, nutrient cycling and plant adaptations in different kinds of ecosystems like grasslands, lakes and river embankments. His pioneering research was on soil conservation, water runoff and nutrient losses. He was elected fellow of the National Institute of Ecology; the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad.
