Kandala Venkata Ramana Chary
Kandala Venkata Ramana Chary obtained his PhD from Osmania University, Hyderabad, in 1983. His primary research areas included Structural Biology, Molecular Biophysics and Biological chemistry. He showed the capability of solving complete 3D solution structures of proteins by NMR. He developed rapid NMR methodologies and proposed new NMR pulse sequences. He is an elected member of the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi (2012) and an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences (2000).

Uma Prasanna Basu
Uma Prasanna Basu obtained his DSc from the University of Kolkata in 1935. He specialized in organic chemistry and natural products. He developed antimalarials with the synthesis of many new acridine derivatives. With the help of Guareschi's synthesis of pyridines, he synthesized some B-hexahydroisoquinolines. He won the Nagarjuna Prize. He was the President Indian Science Congress. He was a member Indian Chemical Society, the Institution of Chemists, The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science and the Asiatic Society.
