Bangalore Inamti Sunderaraj Bangalore Inamti Sunderaraj

Bangalore Inamti Sunderaraj obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Mysore in 1958. His research interest included the environmental and endocrine regulation of most aspects of catfish reproduction. His work had applications in aquaculture. He was a member of the European Society for Comparative Endocrinology, the American Society of Zoologists; the American Association of Anatomists, and the International Society of Chronobiology. Dr. Sunderaraj won the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Memorial Prize in 1974-75 and the SL Hora Memorial Medal by the Indian Society of Ichthyologists in 1981.

Shyam Bahadur Saksena Shyam Bahadur Saksena

Shyam Bahadur Saksena received his Ph.D. from the University of Saugor, Sagar. He contributed significantly to the study of biological control of soil-born pathogens. He successfully correlated edaphic factors with association with mycoflora and vegetation types. He discovered new genera and species of fungi, which later proved to be virulent human pathogen. He was a member of the American and British Mycological Societies, Indian Phytopathological Society, and Indian Mycological Society. Dr. Saksena was the elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad; President, Indian Science Congress. In his honor, the Indian National Science Academy has instituted the 'Professor Shyam Bahadur Saksena Memorial Award.'
