Narendra Chandra Pant
Narendra Chandra Pant obtained his Ph.D. from the University of London, UK, in 1960. His research included Insect Nutrition, Insect- microbe symbiosis, and insect-plant relationship. His work showed that in certain beetles, yeast-like microorganisms supply at least six factors of vitamin B complex, essential amino acids, and sterols. He was the Director Commonwealth Institute of Entomology, London (1977). Dr. Pant was an elected Fellow of the Entomological Society of India, the Royal Entomological Society, London, and the Institute of Biology, London.

Bhyravabhotla Radhakrishna Murty
Bhyravabhotla R Murty obtained his Ph.D. from Cornell University, USA. His contributions were in gene conservation, biometry, genetics, and radiation genetics using multivariate analysis in assessing divergence, the effect of selection, and the parents' choice for hybridization and classificatory problems of world genetic collections. He received S S Bhatnagar Prize in 1972. He was an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. He was the President Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding. He was a member of the Biometric Society, British Genetic Society, and American Statistical Association.
