Biological system is one of the most complex systems to understand, since temparo-spatial variations makes it almost impossible to decipher laws for its working. Curiosity about the same inclined me towards the field of biology during my school. I elected Zoology as my major during graduation. I completed my BSc. Zoology from PES College, Farmagudi, Goa (2007). Later I did MSc. Bioinformatics from SCMIT College, Pune (2009). I worked as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) at Evolvus Pvt Ltd for an year. After that I joined School of Biotechnology at I2IT (Hinjewadi, Pune) as Research Associate (Bioinformatics). During this period I worked under the guidance of Dr. Prasad Burra and gained experience in core biological programming, participating in the activities like biological framework design and development. This work has resulted in a software application (a bio-programming platform), named BioInt (http://biobhasha.org/).

Learning is an eternal process. With an intention to enhance my understanding about the domain and apply the current knowledge in the field, I was willing to pursue PhD. I joined Dutt Lab at ACTREC as a Graduate Student (JRF). The lab focusses on integrated genomics approaches to understand cancer biology. This provides me with an opportunity to study aberrations in cancer using high-throughput techniques at the level of genome, exome and transcriptome.

In addition to research, I like sports (all the outdoors; swimming, baseball are my favourites), reading (philosophy, science, fiction), music, blogging and some poetry.
