Characterization of therapeutically relevant alterations in human cancer

We are exploring the genomic landscape of papillary thyroid cancer and medullary thyroid cancer in Indian patients using NGS technology in collaboration with Dutt lab. Thyroid cancer, known to be clinically well treated and managed disease, shown significant increment in cases during past decades in India. Also, patients has shown poor outcome upon standard treatment line. Combining both the observations, thyroid cancer get highlighted to study the biology and also to search for alternative therapy. Using the Waterhose tool we are analysing whole exome and targeted sequencing data to derive mutation profile and copy number alterations to look for therapeutically relevant targets.
