I wish to bring to your kind attention a concern regarding the sampling procedure in the Private Category 302. It has been observed that several sampling technicians do not change gloves between patients, and some even perform sampling without gloves.Being a doctor myself, and with my wife currently admitted as a private patient, I have advised the staff several times to change gloves before each sampling. However, they often respond that they are not instructed or required to do so.This practice is concerning, especially as many patients are leucopenic or neutropenic, which increases the risk of infection and cross-infection. I have observed this issue in both the General and Private categories.
I request that necessary instructions be issued to ensure that all sampling staff follow proper aseptic precautions, including mandatory use and change of gloves before every patient. This will help protect both patients and technicians from possible infections and accidental exposure.
