Abstract Guideline

The National Research Scholars Meet (NRSM) in Life sciences-2021 invites abstracts from researchers around India. Students from academia, industry and research organizations are welcome to submit their abstracts and be a part of this one-of- a-kind opportunity to get the abstracts published in a peer-reviewed journal!
Abstracts presenting original research unpublished at the time of submission to NRSM 2021 are strongly encouraged. Few abstracts based on scientific merit will be chosen for oral presentation. All other abstracts will be eligible for poster presentation. All accepted abstracts will be published in the NRSM2021 abstract book as well as in the Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (IJMPO).
Last date for Abstract submission is 25th November 2021.

Guidelines for Abstract submission

Author information: Provide the full name, academic degree(s), institution, state/country, and email address for each author on the abstract and contact numbers (mandatory) for the corresponding author. The corresponding author will receive all future communication from IJMPO regarding the status of the abstract.

Abstract must be in English, font - Times New Roman, size - 12, spacing - 1.5 consisting of one paragraph of 250 words arranged in four sections (Background, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion), should summarize the most important points in the article:

  • Background (25 to 50 words): subject matter and purposes of the study
  • Materials and Methods (up to 50 words),
  • Results (up to 100 words),
  • Conclusion (up to 50 words): key take away points/ interpretation

Table: Up to one data table is permitted per abstract. Limit the table to no more than 10 rows. Illustrations and figures are not permitted.

  • Note that only accepted abstracts will be published. Please ensure the abstract has no spelling or grammatical errors, misspelled author names or credentials.
  • Identification of Original Research: Indicate whether the abstract reports on original research.
  • Identification of clinical trial: Indicate whether the research is a clinical trial. Mention CTRI number or any other identification number as applicable is the clinical trial has been already registered.

Guidelines for Poster submission

Participants whose abstracts will be selected for poster and oral presentations will be updated through mail. Due to time constraints, only few of the posters may be asked to be presented online. However, all the accepted abstracts will be published in IJMPO.

  • Please prepare your e-posters as a power point presentation.
  • Participants selected for poster presentations will be given 3+2 minutes for presentation and discussion.
  • The presentation should be formatted into 3 slides as follows.
  • The first slide should have the title and the name of the presenting author along with institute affiliation.
  • The second slide should describe the Aims and Results.
  • The third and last slide should describe Discussion and Conclusion.
  • Participants selected for oral presentations will be given 8+2 minutes for presentation and discussion.
