Overview
The Dental and Prosthetic Services comprises of an Out Patient Department, the Dental Implant Clinic and the Dental Laboratory. The services are provided by well experienced and trained clinicians, dental hygienist and dental technician. We cater to special dental needs of cancer patients. Rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients with obturators, guide plane prostheses, tongue prostheses etc. is carried out after ablative surgery. Implant retained maxillofacial prostheses (intra-oral & extra-oral) are also fabricated in patients requiring this modality of treatment.
Out Patient Department: The National Cancer Institute (NCI) recommends that cancer patients should be evaluated by dental professionals 4 weeks prior to initiating cancer treatment to allow for healing if any dental work is required. The Dental OPD at ACTREC manages:
- Pre-Oncologic Dental Treatment (Pre-RT/Pre BMT/Pre-Bisphosphonate)
- During Oncological Dental Treatment (Managing dental/oral complications)
- Post Oncologic Dental Treatment (Rehabilitation/Maintenance/ Prevention of side effects)
Dental Implant Clinic: A dedicated section for advanced dental rehabilitation, specifically for dental implant placement and prosthetic rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. The clinic is equipped with the necessary infrastructure and expertise to perform implant procedures safely and effectively.
In-House Dental Laboratory: Efficient in-house dental laboratory for fabricating intra- oral and extra-oral prostheses. Skilled dental technician who can work closely with prosthodontists to create custom-made prostheses, including facial prosthesis, dentures, and extra-oral prostheses for cancer patients.
Advanced Dentistry: Use of State-of-the-art equipment like OPG and CBCT machine, Choukran’s Platelet Rich Fibrin machine, Lasers, Ostell Implant stability analyzer, WNH Physiodispensor and Intra oral scanner to provide quality care to cancer patients.
