Library

The training programme for Library Science freshers aims to provide insights of different functions and activities of the Library by introducing professional practices and upcoming trends. The programme attempts to cover both conventional and ongoing practices in Health Science Librarianship and enables the candidates to begin their career with confidence. The library offers ample opportunities to candidate to work in various sections independently to study and to gain hands-on-experience in every aspect of librarianship.

The duration of the training programme is six months and extendable based on nature and status of the project. The training module covers

  • Procedures of acquisition of Books and Periodicals
  • Library automation system and Library Software – LibSuite ASP
  • Internet and Online resources
  • Role of Major libraries / Documentation Centres and Networks
  • Other Library Management Softwares and Digital library softwares
  • Audio visuals and other equipments
  • Upcoming Technologies, Trends and Library Concepts
  • Communications and letter drafting techniques
  • Personality Development

A project will be assigned to candidate and the project report alongwith the presentation should be made within the training period. (Mandatory)
